iPad Home Checkout

 To check out an iPad a patron must:

  • Be 18 years or older.
  • Present BOTH a state-issued ID and Howell Carnegie District Library card.
  • Have less than $10 in fees, no billed items, or blocks on library card account. No exceptions.

 Holds canot be placed on iPads. They are available on a first come, first served basis.

 iPads can be checked out at the Information Desk for 1 week with no renewals and no grace period. A $10 late fee will be immediately assessed once the checkout period has expired.

 Only one iPad can be checked out per library card account.

 Any files or apps saved to an iPad will be automatically erased when the device is returned. The Howell Carnegie District Library is not responsible for lost files or apps.

 You are responsible for the iPad and accessories checked out on your library card. In case of loss or damage, fees will be assessed on an individual basis depending upon cost of repair or replacement.

 Do not use iPad around food and drink.

 Immediately report loss or damage to the Information Desk.

 Return iPad, accessories, and envelope to the Information Desk. Contents of envelope include iPad, lightning cable, and power adaptor.

DO NOT RETURN THROUGH THE BOOK DROP.

Doing so will result in loss of iPad checkout privileges.

 

Patron must wait until the next business day to check out an iPad again after returning.

  Replacement cost (iPad, accessories, and envelope): $500.

 

  •  HCDL iPad users, including minors, are forbidden from using this equipment for any illegal activity.
  •  HCDL iPad users agree to hold HCDL harmless for any damage related to using this equipment.
