CITYSCAPE COLORING CONTEST

Using any medium you choose, color a Howell Cityscape Print. Cityscape Prints are $5 and available at the Howell Library and Opera House. Completed prints are due by May 18th (see details below).

CITYSCAPE COLORING CONTEST RULES

  1. Contestants will be divided into six age groups. Prizes will be awarded for each group.
  2. Age Group: Prize:
    PreK to 2nd Grade Castaway Cafe gift card
    3rd to 5th Grade WebKinz
    6th to 8th Grade Great Escape gift card
    9th to 12th Grade Gus's gift certificate ($15.)
    Adults (age 18+) 2 tickets, Howell Theatre
    Family Dairy Queen gift certificate ($30.)

  3. You can use any medium - pens, pencils, colored pencils, crayons, markers or paints.
  4. Write your name, contest category and phone number on the back.
  5. Drop off completed prints during normal business hours at the Howell Carnegie District Library prior to May 18. Entries can be dropped off on May 18 at The Opera House from Noon-4:00 pm.
  6. Judging will take place on Monday, May 19. Winners will be notified by telephone.
  7. Entries will be displayed from May 19 to May 31 and can be picked up on May 31.

ARTISAN DEMOS & SPECIAL DISPLAYS
Artist-Blacksmith Douglas Thayer of Webberville will demonstrate traditional blacksmithing using a coal forge and a variety of tools and equipment on the library lawn. Douglas Thayer will also have finished pieces on display. To see his work visit www.thayerhouse.com.

ANTIQUE FARM EQUIPMENT & TRACTORS
will be displayed on North Walnut Street off Grand River.

COMMUNITY CRAFTING & CONVERSATION
Calling all hand crafters- bring your knitting, crocheting, hand quilting or any other portable craft project for Community Crafting and Conversation on the Library lawn. Bring a lawn chair. If it rains, we'll move into the Library. A hands-on craft will also be available provided by Wendy’s Simple Stitches. The Spinning Loft will be demonstrating the craft of spinning wool.


Sunday, May 18 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm:

OLD-FASHIONED ICE CREAM SOCIAL sponsored by Citizens Insurance
Enjoy a free Hershey’s Ice Cream sundae!
The social also features Joel Tracy, of Tip Top Entertainment juggling and balloon twisting on the Howell Carnegie District Library lawn. Classic children’s games will also be provided as well as a petting zoo.
