How do I?

Suggestion for Purchase

The Howell Carnegie District Library welcomes your suggestions for the collection.  Please check the Library Catalog to see if the Library already owns the item before you submit a Suggestion for Purchase form.

We regret that we can't purchase all suggestions and that the volume of requests prevents us from responding individually.

  • Suggestions are evaluated according to our Collection Policy, availability, space, and current budgetary constraints.
  • Use this form for currently in-print or available titles.
  • This form is not intended for popular titles and bestsellers which are ordered in advance. Please check our catalog regularly to place a hold or set up an email alert using Preferred Search.
  • Older, specialized, or out-of-print titles may be borrowed through MeLCat.
  • Magazine titles are purchased once a year in August/September.

If your suggestion meets the above criteria, we will place a hold for you if your suggestion is purchased for the collection.

This form is for the use of Howell Carnegie District Library Patrons and is not intended as a marketing tool for authors, publishers, or vendors.
