Funds

If you are interested in donating funds in memory or in honor of a relative or friend, please read the following documents:

You may make a donation either online or by mail. Just go to our online donations page to donate now. If you prefer to mail your contribution to the library, please include one of these forms with your check:

Make checks payable to "Howell Carnegie District Library." Upon receipt of the donation, a suitable book or other item is selected with an inscription bearing the name of the person honored and the name of the donor. Most library donations are tax deductible and the State of Michigan allows a partial credit on individual and business returns.

Books

Books, cassettes and other materials donated for the library's collection shall be evaluated by the professional staff to determine suitability for the collection, taking into account the condition of the material, space available, probability of use, cost of processing, etc. The materials shall be accepted only if there are no restrictions placed on them. The following form must accompany all material gifts:

The Friends accept donations of good, clean, used books for book sales to benefit the library. However, they do not accept National Geographic, Readers' Digest Condensed, textbooks/business manuals over 5 years old or encyclopedias over 10 years.
