Strands of Bronze and Gold

Romance, mystery, and suspense are woven into this breathtaking retelling of the “Bluebeard” fairy tale. Sophie is a seventeen-year-old girl, in the late 1800’s, who just lost her father.  Sophie receives, an invitation—on fine ivory paper, in bold black handwriting—from the Monsieur Bernard de Cressac, the godfather she has never met. When Sophie first arrives at Wyndriven Abbey in Mississippi, she is enchanted by the generosity of Monsieur Bernard de Cressac. She begins to hear rumors about her godfathers past wives. She soon becomes alarmed by what she hears.

The story is told in the first person as Sophie unravels the plan Monsieur Bernard de Cressac has for her. The author takes great care to describe that house and the grounds with all of it’s locked doors, dark secrets and hidden objects. The scene is set. Can Sophie solve the mystery of the 4 wives and save herself?  Check our catalog
